Survival Stories 02: Alyssa LeBlanc

Alyssa LeBlanc grew up on the water, surrounded by family members who modeled how to be playful and enjoy marine activities, while taking safety seriously.

Alyssa LeBlanc smiles while wearing aviator sunglasses and a red life vest, holding a fishing rod aboard a boat.

So, when her PFD flew out of the back of her truck before a canoeing trip with a small group of friends and fellow chefs, replacing it the day before they set off on a trout fishing adventure was non-negotiable. And, a move that would prove to be a lifesaver.

This is Alyssa’s save story.

Any adventurer doesn’t want to think the worst when planning their trips, excursions, and expeditions. And yet, planning for the unpredictable, and unfathomable, is what brings them home, adventure after adventure.

Alyssa says it best:

‘Don’t let fear hold you back from doing the things you love.”

Chase your passions, and be smart in the process. When it comes to marine activities and adventures, make sure you wear a PFD. It’s a simple step that can save your life—and the lives of the people you’re on the water with.
